Two are born into empty space. Two take their first breath, their first steps, their first foray into a world in which their parallel lives will be divided and dictated by one thing: gender.

'Boy, Girl, Repeat' is an experimental work in development that marks Quintessence Theatre’s first project in their ‘Hear Me Roar: Women, Gender and Silence’ programme as the new Theatre Company in Residence of Droichead Arts Centre. Told entirely without words through stylised movement, soundscape, and mime, it follows the story of Boy and Girl from cradle to grave, exploring how that specific crucial difference assigned at birth shapes their whole social existence within the same world.
