A powerful new devised production tackling the most urgent, divisive human rights issue in Ireland: right to life, bodily autonomy and abortion.

Imagine…Imagine you were needed to give life to another. An innocent.
Imagine a world where your body is not considered entirely yours.
Imagine a place when the State could tell you: We will use your body to give life to another.
You’ll survive.
You have no choice, no voice.
A life depends on you.
You are not a human being…You are more than that. You are less than that.
You are a Vessel.

Inspired by recent deaths and controversies in Ireland surrounding the 2013 Protection of Life during Pregnancy Act Quintessence Theatre draw on verbatim material and use their innovative physical ensemble story-telling to tackle one of the most topical, emotive and divisive human rights issues facing modern Ireland today, expressionistically exploring what it means for individuals when absolute Right to Life overrides bodily autonomy.
