Imagine: you turn up at the door of a house. A house you’re going to be living in, with people you’ve never met. A house you’ve never seen before, in an estate you’ve never been to, in a town you’re not familiar with, alongside an adult you barely know…and all you have is a black bin bag, carrying everything, absolutely everything, you own – all that’s familiar. All that is known. Your whole life – all in that one plastic bag – and you not even old enough to understand what’s going on…

Devised by the company based on true stories, and the first production in our ‘Origins’ season, 'Some of 'Our Children' poignantly explores the realities and failings of the Irish Care System that makes and mars the lives of too many of Ireland’s children.
